    Itunes not syncing! Error 0XE8000001

    Hello,

I'm looking for a solution to my problem if you could help me ....

    My setup is as follows:

MacBook Pro intel core duo 2.4 Ghz
    Leopard 10.5.6 V

    Itunes 8.1

    Apple Ipod Touch - Generation 1 - MB376LL - 32 GB

    Ipod Firmware Version: 2.2.1 (5:11)

For information there was no Jailbreak, on the ipod .....

This iPod is connected to the origin and formatted the PC, the iPod is fully recognized and synchronized with iTunes 8 on Windows Vista, but wanting to jump in Mac I encounter a problem.

Once connected to the USB 2 MacBook Pro, the 8.1 ipod itunes opens, but Itunes me return the following error message "iTunes could not connect to the ipod" ipod touch>> and an unknown error occurred (0XE8000001).

    On the iPod touch:

I tried a first time to twice full reset ipod touch (4hrs anyway) ...

I tried to do a Hard reboot and a Hard Reboot super, super Hard reboot allows to recognize my Ipod touch in iTunes 8.1, Mac OS 10.5.6, itunes confirms detected ipod in recovery mode and suggests restore it so that it can be used with itunes.

I reproduced this several times and even restore back on this version of Firmware "iPod1, 1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw" and share an updated version of iTunes last Firmware at each reboot of the iPod Touch and iTunes once I get the same error message error code (0XE8000001).

On Itunes: I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application several times and turned the old preferences, enabled the itunes store and authorized this computer, but this does not change.

On the Macbook Pro, I tested the 3 USB 2 ports, and it does not change anything ....

For my part, having exhausted all solutions found, should I resign myself to see me use this Ipod Touch on a PC or is there a "real" solution so that I can finally be recognized as my Macbook Pro and sync with Itunes?

Thank you in advance for your answers and your advice ..

    Hi,

To fix Error 0XE8000001, follow the below steps :

    1. Activity Monitor is located in Applications > Utilities
    2. Double-click Activity Monitor to open the application. There will me multiple columns. to make it easier, make sure that the list is sorted my Process Name (the header Process Name should be blue).
    3. Scroll down until you see iTunes Helper in the Process Name column. Click it and then that row should be made to me blue to let you know it is selected.
    4. Now click the Quit Process button in the upper left corner of the window (it is the stop sign).

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

    Here's the solution :
    1. Go to Device Manager (My Computer, right click an empty space, click Properties, then Hardware (tab), then Device Manager)
    2. Expand the 'Universal Serials Bus controllers'
    3. Make sure one of the USB devices has 'USB 2.0' or 'USB2' written somewhere in it (mine was after 'Enhanced Host Controller')
    4. Right Click the USB2.0 one and click "Update Driver"
    5. Click the Automatically Update Driver (or something similar) tab and let Windows search for a driver update (the internet must be on while doing this).
