    Archos 10 Netbook

Archos has announced their new own branded laptop, which is actually a repackaged Hasee Mj125, but Archos wants to hit the netbook area and so has renamed it the Archos 10 which incorporates a 10.2 inch display and comes powered with an 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU.
There's the usual Intel Atom chip, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and three USBs for hooking up any extras you happen to have kicking about. The design looks rather sharp, but in fact Archos has just rebadged a Hasee machine which has been doing the rounds for some time.

This 10.2-inch machine boast with a 1024 x 600 resolution and comes equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 160 GB of storage space, a 3-cell battery, three USB ports and WiFi.

However, no one saw their latest move, a 10in netbook, coming. Dubbed the Archos 10, seemingly to fit in with the Archos 5 and 7, the new machine packs in everything you'd expect from a micro–laptop.

It's quite a surprise to see Archos launch an Intel-based PMP. If anything, we were somewhat expecting an ARM-based Netbook from this company. The Archos 10 is a plain vanilla Netbook.

    Re: Archos 10 Netbook

Archos is leveraging its multimedia background and loading the Archos 10 up with a unique set of software including a fully licensed copy of vTuner, which allows quick and easy access to thousands of internet TV and radio stations. Buyers also get a $50 credit for the Archos Media Club which will allow them to buy downloadable media. The netbook will reportedly cost abotu $399 at launch, or $449 if you opt for a version with a 6 cell battery. You should be able to pick up an Archos 10 starting in February.

Where Archos is trying to stand out, however, is in entertainment—and rightfully so. The company claims to include $100 work of apps for this $399 machine, including Lotus Symphony, Working Suite, XN View photo editor, Vtuner Web Radio & TV Player, BitDefender Antivirus 209 and Parental Filter (with the full version free for the first six months). Archos is also throwing in $50 of Archos Media Club movies and five free songs (so long as it’s the first time you’re signing up and you give your credit card information). Finally, the company is offering a free music download every day from eMusic—a good start for those who want a netbook for entertainment purposes.
