Archos, the designer of digital music players and Internet tablets Archos 5 and 7 has recently indicated that he would make a major announcement at CES 2009, a great mass of consumer electronics devices to be held in Las Vegas from January 8 to 11. An image published a few days ago by the magazine Blogeee started the rumor: Archos is about to launch an ultra-portable economic (NETBOOK).
Rather than develop its own computer, Archos has chosen to use a white label assembly (MDGs), the Chinese Hase.
Archos thus chose the Q130 for Hase, a machine without a priori advantage, focusing on a WSVGA screen of 10.2 inches, a standard Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1 GB or 2 GB of DDR2 RAM and a 120GB hard drive or 160 GB remains to be seen if Archos has put emphasis on multimedia, for example by incorporating a chip decoding hardware or software adapted.
We will know more on 10 January 2009, when Archos will hold its conference at CES.
