The holiday season is in full swing and most people will go out on a vacation. Vacations have special moments, which become treasured possessions of our memories. But there is a way to preserve these memories and also share them with your loved ones. We are talking about a camcorder and we have with us today, the Panasonic SDR-H60, which is a standard definition hard drive based camcorder. This has a huge storage space of 60GB to capture videos and additional storage via an SD HC card slot. It comes with optical image stabilization and a huge optical zoom of 50X. The size and weight are very manageable and we will take it into the field to find out if this is the camcorder to buy.
The bundle seems to be adequate and complete except that it does not come with a carry pouch. A carry pouch would have made it much easier to carry this cam. They have not included a remote controller either, which would have allowed you to start video/photo capture from a distance.
Unlike a few camcorders such as the ones from Canon, where you can only charge the battery while it is inside the cam, this one comes with a separate battery charger. There is also a DC power outlet to connect the DC Power Adapter.
The DC Power Adapter plugs into the battery charger and draws DC power from it. The other end of this adapter is shaped similar to the battery pack and goes into the camcorder to supply direct power to it. This is useful while the battery is being charged or when you need to connect the camcorder to a PC.
