Toshiba launches portable projector with USB port

Toshiba on Tuesday announced the release of its portable TLP-X150U projector.

The slim 3LCD projector features a native resolution of 1024x768 and 2600 lumens brightness along with a 600:1 contrast ratio. The projector weighs in at 4lbs, is less than 3 inches tall and comes with a carrying bag to promote its portability. Toshiba’s Natural Color Enhancer5 software sharpens up the colors.

The projector is 1080i HDTV compatible thanks to a VGA port that doubles as a component video input, while a USB thumb drive loaded with JPG images can replace a PC during simple presentations. Like most other presentation projectors, a Blackboard function compensates for projection surfaces other than screens or white surfaces, with options for green, black, brown, blue or beige. An automatic vertical keystone correction shifts the lens to produce a square image even when the projector is offset from the screen or wall by angles up to 45 degrees.
