Overclocking RAM frequency from 1066 to 1333

I have got a desktop system , I have an intel processor and that too a latest one , it is Intel i3 core processor, and hard disk of 500GB of Seagate , I have got a RAM stick of 4GB installed and that runs at a speed of 1066 Mhz , I am a big gamer , I spent the whole day of my weekend in playing games , so I will ask I am looking forward to increase the speed of my Ram as I am not content it with the performance , how about increasing the speed upto 1333 MHz , I will appreciate if you can provide any sort of suggestion on this.

Well if you ask my suggestion or advice I will not ask you to do the same , if you are not well in the overclocking procedure you should not meddle with these process , it is not necessary that you will have to increase the RAM supposed only , in order to increase the performance you can also change the processor if you have or if you want a graphic support you can also install a graphic card in your PCie slot.

Well I think you can do this because you will experience the real change once you get the real taste of 1333 in your system and has a has 21gb/s memory bandwidth compared to dual channel's 1066mhzAnd the latency in the 1333 Mhz RAM is much more than the 1066 Mhz frequency , although it is not much noticeable. But if you are really scared that you will not be able to do this you can simply add one more RAM stick if your mother board allows you to do so.

Re: Overclocking RAM frequency from 1066 to 1333

If you put in 1066MHz RAM (and your system is in the need of 1333MHz), one of two cases is likely to happen if you install both of them together . Either all the faster RAM will slow to match the slower RAM i.e of 1033 module in the system , it is also possible that your system may crash out due to mismatched RAM. So better be careful about doing any such thing.
