How to Overclock i7-860 on an ASUS P7P55D

I am pretty new to overclocking and I wanted to overclock my CPU to 4GHz I kept getting BSODs after logging in usually after running Prime95 which kept telling me that core 5 and 6 had failed and there was a hardware error. I am using system with i7-860 2.8GHz which has ASUS P7P55D motherboard and 2GB RAM. I have set my BIOS setting at BCLK: 182MHz, CPU Core: 1.34V, RAM: 1.55V, Multiplier: 22x, VTT/IMC: 1.3V, PCH: 1.068V, Core PLL: 1.8V. Please help me in regarding this.

Re: How to Overclock i7-860 on an ASUS P7P55D

As you want to overclock i7-860 on an ASUS P7P55D then you need to follow the following points which I am stating here:
    1. Isolate the b clock from the CPU: First you require cutting off the bclock and finding its steady limit by means of your selected cooling. In order to cut off the b clock from the extra components, the initial thing you require to do is physically force a low down multiplier for the CPU.
    2. Isolate the bclock from the memory: the best ever rated pace for memory on P55 by means of an i5 750 just for an instance is DDR3-1333, which is a clock pace of 667 MHz
    3. Isolate the bclock from the iGPU (Clarkdale only): Clarkdale CPUs comprise an iGPU. If you are using an H55 or H57 support motherboard and the iGPU is facilitate, please shell out shut become aware of to this part. Some in the early hours BIOS edition did not permit for iGPU clock pace alteration, if you do not contain this alternative in your BIOS, please renew your BIOS to the majority fresh version.
    4. Bclock voltages: for this step, there are simply two voltages you should play by means of; VTT, and IOH.
    5. Testing for highest stable bclock frequency: Once the operating system has completely burdened, establish up RealTemp.
    6. Maximum safe CPU VTT: If you’re running the supply Intel heat sink and fan, I would not give advice extra than +0.2V, if you are running a elevated end air cooler I would not give advice extra than +0.3V on LGA1156 stage.

Also there are something which you need to do is that you need to optimize the memory frequency which can be done by using the points given below:
    • DDR3 Basics: To do this, first you require glancing at the memory’s ratings. DDR3 does not naturally contain a set of overclocking headroom, so it’s significant to begin by means of stock settings.
    • Testing for highest stable memory frequency: in theory we should be capable to run for at smallest amount an hour by means of the bclock at 200MHz and the memory multi at 2:8– why? Since we previously establish out that this bclock rate is 1 hour steady, and we are not overclocking the memory up till now.
    • Maximum safe memory voltage: This is strong-minded by two belongings: first, by no means augment THE MEMORY energy MORE THAN +0.5V OF THE CPU VTT VALUE, second, how a great contract does you take pleasure in killing your memory?

Also you need to stabilize CPU frequency for that you should use these points might be helpful to you so go through this:
    1. Load-line calibration: It does classically permit for obviously superior overclocking, but at the cost of infringe Intel’s design specs, and putting more pressure on the CPU.
    2. CPU Voltage: I would advocate starting at a fine and simple 1.3V. Astonishingly enough, a lot of users are capable to attain very high-quality overclocks by means of this self-effacing quantity of CPU voltage.
    3. Maximum safe CPU voltage: My suggestion is to decide your utmost safe voltage support on your temperatures at the same time as running your constancy test. With stock air cooling this could be as low down as 1.3V on a number of i7 CPUs at the same time as running OCCT. Or it could be as elevated as 2.2V when trying Super PI 1M by means of an i5 670 on liquid nitrogen.

I would like to say you thanks for the steps you all have given to me in the above posts and also I have done accordingly as you all have suggested me. But at the present my temps are a small as well elevated at 3.9GHz. The temps were balanced approximately 95 degrees. I couldn't even arrive at 4GHz, closest I obtain was 3.99GHz and that not working in prime95. So thank you for the steps.
