Nvidia 7950 gt ppa driver is not stable for overclocking on Ubuntu 10.04

Hi i am having the Ubuntu 10.04 operating system and using it from the last five months and i am happy that till now it is serving me the best. I have recently installed the Nvidia 7950 gt graphics card on my system and tried overclocking but it seems to me that it is not happening. I think that there is some thing wrong with the card that i have installed. Please help me to solve this issue as soon as possible and also let me know how to perform proper overclocking in Ubuntu 10.04.

I have gone through your problem and it seems to me that there is something wrong with the driver that you have installed. Now if the diver is not installed property then it will not support overclocking. The thing here is that if the card that you are using is having the the ability to cope with overclock but if the driver is not installed properly then it will give you such issues. So what you have to do in this case is that just download the drivers again and install on your system.

It seems to me that the GeForce 7950 GT generally do the overclocking quite e well. And also it does a tremendous work for us by giving the best video quality. The thing here is that you should not face any problem with the card that you are using but still if you are not able to overclock then it is an issue with the driver that you have installed. Try out any other driver that will help you to solve the issue. In this case i will suggest you to use the 256.x series driver. and i hope that it will help you to solve your issue.

I am also using the same card and facing almost similar problem. I think there is a problem in the video card and that is why it is giving me some weird output. I failed to overclock my system i think it is the card that is not letting me to do the same. Please help me out in this case to overclock my system and that with a little more speed. Is it possible for me to replace the Video card that i am currently using if yes then suggest me the best option that available.
