Unlocking extra cores in GTX 260

    Hi all,

I have an Evga 260 gtx 192 cores, GeForce GTX 260 is still no doubt the most powerful single-core graphics card today, but the 65nm process, 1.4 billion transistor monster is built in front of Radeon HD 4800 series looks embarrassed. I want to know that how to Unlock extra cores in GTX 260. I am using Windows Vista Operating System. Please suggest.

Unlocking extra cores in GTX 260

As for the technical specifications, GeForce GTX 295 no change, will maintain the consistent characteristics of the series, but it also provides a bridge interface, so you can two parallel, composition Quad SLI, even in theory you can specify a core rendering the game screen, Another one to accelerate the implementation of physics. Output interface side, the card in addition to Two DVI-IProvided in addition to1 HDMI. All the best.

During the Windows startup, GT200 fairly quiet fan (turn 516 revolutions per minute, the maximum speed is about 30%). Then the game started, the display card suddenly become a washing machine, the noise really unacceptable, especially the GTX 280. GTX 260 a little better condition, but in time become very noisy 1250 rpm (the sound is air, not the voice of the fan itself). But we must note that our idle reading performance in the implementation of all measured test procedures, and only idle for a few minutes. GTX 280 problem has not returned to the lowest speed, GTX 260's fan although the situation is better, but still as high as 700 rpm, but really quiet. All the best.

As the GT200's idle power consumption is very low, so these results particularly difficult to understand clearly the problem is not out in the BIOS (but the two different graphics cards have this problem) is the driver, this part also want to improve. If not, we can still forced to use special software to reduce fan speed, let you monitor the temperature (see next page). However, these two graphics card fan is very disappointing, particularly as they will be part of the hot air blown into the casing, so that chassis temperature, fan speed and thus to improve the graphics processor, other components let alone the.

Unlocking extra cores in GTX 260

In the overclocking tests, we GeForce GTX 260 from 576/1242/999 MHz (GPU / ALU / memory) overclocked to 648/1397/1184 MHz, respectively 12% and 18%. Such results are good, but we Car Soul: Unlimited race2560 * 1600 resolution in the next squeeze out 16% more performance, that is, 8.4 per cell, only 6% slower than GTX 280 .

Of course it overclocking, and stability increased from 602/1296/1107 MHz to 655/1410/1290, improve rates were 9% and 16%.Car Soul: Unlimited raceOnce again benefit from the frequency of enhanced frame rate increased by 13%, even with the 9800 GTX compared to the rate of 16% is also quite good. Overall, these results very consistent, especially in the stretch is the exact science of the overclocking aspect.
