    Phenom II X4 940 bad temperature

    hi,
    i have recently upgrade my system, i replaced my phenom ii x4 955 with Phenom II X4 940 which performs better than the old processor.but the problem it shows very high temperature, I did not overclock it or change any voltages.all the core showing temperature around 50°C and i think which is too bad.

    It depends on a lot of different factors, especially the model of the CPU, & cooling measures used.I think, that BIOS reads CPU-tems and Overdrive takes the Core-Temps.

    Check your BIOS and see if Cool N' Quiet is enabled, and disable it if it is. the HSF is installed correctly. Did you use a thermal pad or paste? If paste, did you apply a single dab about the size of a grain of rice in the center of the CPU? Did you lock it down securely?Turn off anything that might be throttling your cooler fan back.

    hi,
    what fans you presently have in the case. If the cpu is really showing high temperature means problem is related with fan.what psu do you have actually?
