    Watercooler for Q6600

    Hi,
Following my various problems of temperature 65-70 on my Q6600. CPU stress with 3.2Ghz and wanting to go up to 3.8 to see 4.0 or + in H24 I intend to pass out of Watercooling. I doubt I plan on watercooling my 8800gt when I get one.
For now, I just want to quiet my machine & maybe lower the temps some more.

Thank you very much for your future responses.

If you're a beginner there's really no need to go with watercooling. In fact, if you don' plan on overclocking at all then the stock heatsink does a good enough job as it is. If you do go with aftermarket cooling, the Zalman is a great choice and you shouldn't have any problems with it.

well since you are a newb i wont recommend a water cooling in anyway,,they are much costy and need much work. go for zalman 9700 (needs you to remove the motherboard) or thermaltake V1 (dont need motherboard removal), that is if you want to overclock. if you dont want to overclock just go for the stock cooler that comes with the CPU.

You will be fine with an aftermarket cooler. you might be limited to 3.4 or so...but you might also look into good NB cooling too, if your MB doesn't have anything but a chintzy heatsink. If you are going to go watercooled, don't expect to spend less than ~$180 or you are wasting your time and money. The good stuff isn't cheap, but the cheap stuff isn't worth it.
