    Q9550 Overclock

    Hi,
I have a question, I am currently a bit on the clock, all well and good. But I walk a little at a problem, when I go on overclocking than roughly i achieve 3.7 GHz. Prime95 says that it all works fine but I get a blue screen. I was wondering, is that to solve by voltages. Because so far, everything still standard (except the cpu itself of course).

    Here my specifications:

    Mob: Asus P5QC
    Memory: Corsair Dominator 1066
    CPU Intel Q9550
    GPU: Sapphire 4850 X2 2GB

The motherboard is also not standard. You have the FSB Ok, not very much, but still. It may well be that there simply is no longer to get depends on your system, just because something is a boundary and where it is saves from motherboard to motherboard and CPU to CPU. You should be able to raise the voltages, but you also increase the risk of hardware problems. Best chance that your system is stable when the vCore as increases, but always do it with small steps and keep your temps in the holes.

You are lucky that you get 3.7Ghz. The Q9550 has a FSB wall, and you simply can not be higher. I have also experienced. The Q9550 is not a good Overclockers unfortunately.

3.7 is already a decent speed, These blue screens are very "normal" for a high Overclock. What power supply do you use? I am at last a limit on my Q6600.

What is the temperature of your system now ? This also may indicate.

But I see that people with relatively low voltages are much higher, I have even seen some 4.2 Ghz.

    My temperatures are:
    Core 1 = 38
    Core 2 = 37
    Core 3 = 40
    Core 4 = 39
    Motherboard = 33

This is more or less idle, and my fan profile to silent ..
I have a 520 Watts Cooler Master power supply ..
