if you want to use the card in all its slot(AA-AF-UVD.. Eccc) you must have installed the CCC, which has within it a suite of overclocking valid.
alternatively use ATITOOL.

I remain on ATI cache I do not want to leave ATT then I take a 3870 GT instead of I sometimes shows frobbing icons on the desk with one click and everything back as before has several utilities you can also see how much ram the pacifier while playing VGA or temp etc. ... X profiles in addition to any game with an executables.

I finally arrives to sapphire 3870
one thing I am not clear why the ATI you can not change the frequency of shader, "there is some blockage?
some of you did a good overclock with the original heatsink and overvolt? and if so, what mhz and gain on some bench?
