    Auto voltage or Manual

I have for a long time my E8400 to be at the 3.6 GHz. So far, have only run on auto voltage. In cpu-z it shows that it is in 1248 at a maximum load. But if I go into bios and set it to 1248 or just overclock manually, the CPU does not have enough power and the computer will just continue to reboot.

So I am slightly nervous for the auto voltage is higher than the cpu-z?
Is there anyone who knows anything about it? And there may be some who know why I can not really get my cpu up to 4.0 GHz?

    Re: Auto voltage or Manual

I have set Vcore to 1.21 volts on my E8400, and right now running the 4300 Mhz stable (FSB 478). Had it up to 4500 with 1.28 volts, but it was just warm enough for what I thought was reasonable.

But to answer your question, do I set all voltages manually except Dram ref voltage. Are you sure this is not your Northbridge receiving too little power. Mine gives NB 1.54 V.

Okay, how much you keep your south bridge?
My bridge is just north of the auto. I will just try the voltage you mention there.

    It gives me these volt:

    CPU: 1.21
    CPU PLL: 1.50
    Northbridge: 1.52
    DRAM: 2.10
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.24
    Southbridge: 1175

    Re: Auto voltage or Manual

    Thank you very much.
I will now try a little forward with a little voltage, etc. And so I write again tomorrow even if I have problems or such.

    Once again thanks.
