No audio after running BackTrack 5 Release 1 on Lenovo Thinkpad T60

I used Lenovo Thinkpad T60 laptop last one year. Yesterday i do installation of the BackTrack 5 Release 1 OS on this laptop. It install successfully but when i try to run video files on it, it shows video very well but no audio comes with it. I used VLC media player for playing music files. I have very little Linux background. Hence please let me know that why should this OS makes problem to generate sound on this laptop. Can anyone describe the correct way that helps to get sound on this OS?? thanks for any such help.

make sure that, in the boot time you installed OS find out the sound driver and its related ports. If something wrong message arrives on it, you need to simply perform troubleshooting task on it. In that either reinstallaiton of the sound driver or the changing the audio port on your laptop works.
