Windows 8 showing only one core in my CPU

Now this is what the exact problem here is. My cpu has 3 cores and windows 8 is showing only one core, now what does that mean. Does windows 8 lacks multi core support? Or is it something else? That’s what I am not able to understand at all. So it would be better if you can give me some help for the said problem. Is the same thing happening with you all as well or is it the other way around what is it exactly? Please do let me know about it, I am waiting for the response from your side.

No not exactly that is not the case with me at all, that’s what I want to share over here. so this is what I want to say here. in the windows task manager ensure that you are using the separate mode and not the single mode. I think that will do for you. So that’s what I want to say here. I hope whatever I have said here was pretty much clear for you.

Yes exactly this is what you should be checking out. Just do a right click on the graph, mouse over ‘Change graph to’ option and then click on ‘Logical Processors’. So that’s what you should be doing. I suppose you were in the single mode and hence you were getting to see these. So do the necessary changes accordingly and let me know if the said solution from my side was of any use for you or not. Anyways just give a try for the same.

I have already tried out all the necessary basic steps from my side but nothing is helping me so it would be better if you can think something out of box and come up with the solution. Do reply fast I am waiting for the response.

I have some steps for you make sure that you follow them, so what you should do is that
1) Go to the start menu, then run and type msconfig.
2) A system configuration windows will open up Under the Boot tab click on the Advanced options button.
3) Now you will get to see the Number of processors box just uncheck it. Click on ok.
4) Now in the boot tab you will get to see the Make all boot settings permanent box, check that box. Click on OK.
5) Now click on YES.
6) A restart message will appear. Click on that restart button.
Now check in the windows task manager to see if everything is solved or not.

Please check if only one core is selected in the BIOS? If it is selected then make the necessary changes there and enter the number of cores in that BIOS respectively. So do check it and make the necessary changes.

Ok thanks for giving me that solution I will give a try later but now what I have found is that even cpu-z is showing me only one core. I have had a check with the bios and there does not seems to be any problem there. Anyways guys I will be trying with the said above solution and will revert back to you all guys.

Dude I have one solution for you. So what you should be doing is that go to the device manager and search for the processors section. On clicking in the processors section it will expand. Just do a right click on your core and then select uninstall. A warning message will appear select ok.

Now restart the pc and on restarting it will install all the cores in your system for sure.
