USB Persistent installation Problem with BT5 KDE 32 iso in Linux Operating system

I have Linux operating system and recently I am trying with the new bt5-kde-32.iso to make a persistent USB installation. Now here lies my issue. I used the USB key of Kingston 16GB that I had for BT4r2 release and worked fine but now after repeating those same steps its not working. In the grub stage I got an error as follows:

    "
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn : Your embedding area is unusually small. core.img won't fix in it..
/usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn : Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and its use is discouraged..
/usr/sbin/grub-setup : error : if you really want blocklists, use --force
    "
Even after using force option I found no help. Can someone help me with this?

Actually the problem is with the BT5. The BT5 has some issues when using with USB. I have an idea, try burning it on DVD rather than using USB in order to install it in dual boot. If you still want to install it using USB then use other several USB installations such as linux-usb-maker, text mode, unetbootin etc. You can use any one of them, it will work.

Try using the Force boot properly as I recommend. Download some other key from the internet. After downloading use that key for force option. By using this key you won’t be stuck at the grub command. After that, look for the menu. You will find it on the /mnt/sdb1/boot/grub/. If you don’t find it there then edit the file as I have mentioned such as /isolinux/isolinux.cfg. To be honest this is not the right file but it will do the job for you.

I suggest you to use BT4 instead of using BT5. I agree with the fact that there are some issues with BT5. That’s the reason I am telling you to use BT4. Install BT4 through LiLi USB boot loader with persistence. As for the changes make the primary partition saved. Your Persistent USB installation will be successfully done. If you use BT5-gnome then the LiLi USB boot loader will throw a warning when you will try Persistent USB installation. It will show that it is not in the install list.

I would like to let everyone aware that Backtrack 5 i.e. BT5 loads up fine. But as far as I know there is no command to use persistence. Even I searched over the internet for more details and came with this conclusion. There are just text mode, nodrm, safe, debug etc. Backtrack 5 is pretty sharp and better organized than the previous ones. It removes many overlapping tools. The only problem with it is that to get persistence working using the LiLi method.

Its very disappointing for them who like to boot straight from the Backtrack i.e. the BT. the only thing we can do is try other alternative ways. You can fix this by using DVD instead of USB or visit to ubuntu forums. Search it over the internet and you will find some other alternative for this. Hope you get a valid search related to your query.

While taking a look on the code that you have posted in your question seems that your linux operating system Is asking you to perform force option.
/usr/sbin/grub-setup : error : if you really want blocklists, use –force
I think you must be doing some error in commands and in the force option. Try rectifying your steps because I found there seems to be no issues with the BT5. Its working fine with me.
