How to convert ext4 to ext3

Hello friends. Greetings to all of you. I hope that you all have been doing well. Have some issues so leaving a thread here. Basically, the thing is that I have an ext4 backup partition on my Hard Disk Drive and I desire to install Musix Distro. My query is that can my ext4 be converted to ext3 when I install Musix. However, being a new user, I feel , I have not put the question in a proper way. I do not desire to format the backup partition, I have files on it that I desire to keep, I am aware how to install a Debian based Distro, it is now that I am not convinced if it will translate a ext4 to a ext3.
