Need help reinstalling windows xp on Compaq Mini 110C-1100CA

Hello everyone, last month I purchased the Compaq Mini 110C-1100CA laptop. I had use this laptop for the watching movies and surfing net. Yesterday there is some issue occurred in this laptop and hence I decided to format this laptop and then try to install the windows XP OS on it but suddenly there is some trouble occurred in the reinstallation process. In the installation process can’t continue after loading the drivers and it gives can’t find SATA HDD error message. Any type of help will be appreciates.

This Compaq Mini 110C-1100CA laptop holds the 160 GB SATA hard Disk and this laptop is compatible for installing the windows XP service pack3 Operating system. So, there is not compatibility issue presents in this trouble. For avoiding this trouble you need to install the slipstream Sata drivers (only ICH7M) and it helps you to detect the hard disk at the time of installing the win xp OS. The original XP CD or DVD holds this driver. You can use that CD and install the XP onto it.

Hey you need to complete format the hard disk. There could be possibility that you had not format the SATA hard disk very well and hence the issue is occurred in the installation process. For solving this process, you need to go to the BIOS setting and then set first boot device to the CD ROM. Then insert the original XP CD and first format the hard disk. After that create partition and then follow the instructions and install the XP on the system.

I also found the similar kind of trouble in this laptop and I am not able to solve this issue. I try to USE the original XP CD but maybe I lost this CD. So, I doesn’t able to install xp on this laptop using XP CD. Then I contact the HP dealer. The dealer will provide me the original XP CD and this helps a lot to solve the issue. As per mine suggestions you need to contact the nearest HP dealer. It helps you to solve the trouble.

Hey dude, I also faced the similar kind of issue at the time of installing the XP OS. Then I read your replies and try to download the slipstream Sata drivers (only ICH7M) and try to install it but, it can’t help to install the XP OS. Then I had purchased the original copy of the windows XP operating system. So, this original copy of the windows XP OS is already holds the slipstream Sata drivers and it help a lot to detect the hard disk of the laptop. The trouble is solved and XP installed successfully on the laptop.

If still you had not solved the issue then you need to contact the nearest HP dealer. Sometimes there is possibility that the number of loose connections presents in between the hard disk and the motherboard. For solving this kind of hard ware connectivity issue you need to contact the nearest HP dealer. They will help you to establish the connection very well and then install XP on this HP Compaq laptop. This kind of solutions will be used at the last stage and generally it works to solve the trouble.
