Window 7 Not recognised as administrator

Hi there,
I have unistalled a program (Firefox 4) to return to a previous version.
In the istructions, it said to
1. Uninstal the program (which worked fine)
2. In the Programs files, delete the folders related to Firefox.

When I tried step 2, I was denied, I needed administrator permission to perform this.
I checked, and I saw that I was really the administrator (I am the only user of this computer)
I can delete any file in documents without problems.
This was the first time that I tried to delete a file in the Program files.
What could be wrong?
