Windows 7 (64 bit): Cannot run .exe files

Friends, I am having the Windows 7 (64 bit) installed on my computer and I found that I am not able to open any of the .exe in my computer. Whenever I double click on them then the cursor shows its loading and after a few seconds it becomes idle. When I opened the task manager then I found that programs process is running in that list. I can see this issue with about 90 percent of the programs. Please tell me that why my system is behaving like this and how can I resolve this. Thank you so much in advance for reading and replying to this.

This seems that your computer is infected with the virus and that is the main reason that you are facing the problem. Do you have installed some antivirus in your computer? If no then install a good antivirus in your computer and scan the entire system with that. Do a complete scan and clean all the files that are shown as infected. You can also delete the file if that is not able to clean but before cleaning that, you should make sure that it is not the system file. I wish that this will solve the problem for you.

I think that you have not got the proper privilege to run that file .exe file and so it is not getting open. So just right click on that file and select “Run as admin”. This might ask you for the admin password. You will have to provide the same and press enter. This will run that file with full privilege and you will not get the problems like this. Other than this, you can ask the admin of the computer to provide you the proper rights and then try to run that again.

Is that was working properly in recent days? I am asking that because if that is the case then you can make use of the system restore and see if that can solve the problem for you. Go to system utility and select “System Restore” from there. You will have to select the date when it was working well and then press on restore button. This will reset all your computer settings to the value to the selected date and can solve the problem for you. This is one of the possible ways to resolve the problem and I hope that it will help you as well.

Find the files you are trying to open and rename the extension a. Bate. You can do this with any executable file as msconfig.exe. It should look like this after changing the name. msconfig.bat. So if you download an executable file that you need to run to eliminate particular virus you have and is an archive. Exe then just rename a. Bat and the program should run fine. A bat is a batch file and an executable file. If this works for you please send me a message and let me know. Thanks
