Windows 7: Error message “The Item is no longer located into the directory”

I am frequently encountered a error message whenever I tried to access any application, basically from the desktop screen, the error message is looks like, “The Item is no longer located into the directory”, after double click on the application launch file icon. I am a college student, and recently purchase a Dell XPS laptop, which is running under windows 7. I have no idea on this issue that I mentioned above. Is here any one can help me to overcome from this problem?

As per the problem that you posted here, I would like to suggest you to scan that particular drive, from where the error message arrives, I think the problem should be into that driver only, apart from that I would like to know is there any other application form any other drive is also creating this problem.
