Why ubuntu live cd does not boot in my Acer laptop.

Hello friends, I have an Acer Laptop, which is having ubuntu installed in the drive from the time I got it. But when I booted from the cd that were provided by the manufacturer, it was not able to boot up. I thought it must be the problem of the cd or something but it was the same error presented in the windows Xp also. So I change the bios setting such that it would read the files from the Cd drive but it always used to go to the hard drive for the booting process. In recent time I had noticed that the error was showed, but it was so fast that I couldn’t read it to know what was present in that, should I go for booting process from the usb, I do not know that the bios even supports usb booting or not.

Hello friend, I just went through your problem the last day, and I was trying my level best to solve the problem. Just a few doubts in my mind regarding this topic, in the bios at which place is your optical drive present for the boot order. If it is below the hard drive, make sure that the position is been shifted to the top on the highest position, yes it may sometime happen that the priority of the boot system will be affecting the source from which location to boot. Also are you able to read the disk from the disk drive, after you have booted from the location of the hard drive, if yes then the main issue lie somewhere apart from this.

Yes, I am able to open the disk I the ubuntu which is currently installed in the laptop. First I thought that how it is possible to just see all the content from the disk in the same operating system, but cannot access the content or read the content from it. Apart from this adding a new problem in the list I have also lost my administrator password, which sometime again give the problem, the only think I have to do is to just reinstalled the ubuntu and fix some of the error that are coming ,and after that I want to reinstall the window mbr.

This is again a weird problem that you are facing, are you following all the step of booting in the hard drive proper in the laptop? Because most of the people tend to do mistake in the section, when the system ask you to press a key, when the cd is read from the drive. The time allocated to press any key is just so less, and when the window disappears, most of you think that it is a default step of the operating system and you people go ahead in the booting procedure. But the error comes in this stage only when you go further there you can fine the error coming into the effect.

Thank you I have found out the problem and it was in the same section of pressing the key one, but the other issue like the bios issue, it keep on restarting and when I save the changes, it come in such a way that that I am given a fraction of seconds that help me to check what I have done and if I have done it wrong then the error occurs. Also when you are installing any of the setup in the hard drive make sure that, the hard disk is properly connected and it is configured in a proper manner. If is not then run the cd that you have got from the manufacturer, that will help you to replace any of the error in the setup program. If the setup is not working then, you can solve the issue from the list of setting that you get on the internet, so that the error will not be present in the further.
