Computer getting shutdown automatically

My desktop gets shutdown (in fact getting switched off as if electric supply gone)automatically after about 20 mi nutes or so.

My system amd athlon,os win xp sp2,with one gb ram.

original configuration was 512 mb ram.

I had tried upgrading the ram to 2 gb initially with 2 sticks of one gb rams.

due to blue screen with physical memory error,I had removed one ram and substituted with 256 ram making the total ram to 1gb 256mb.

after sometime the above problem started. On taking the system to a hardware vendor,the vendor told me the problem could be of ram. as such removed all the rams,replaced it with single ram of one gb.

however,the auto switch off problem continues.

There might be some loose connection in your computer and that is the reason that you are getting the problem like this. You can unplug the power connection and then check all the connections in your computer that is that is connected properly or not. If you feel that there is any loose connection then you can remove that and connect that again properly. The main thing that you can check is the PSU connection.

No,it has nothing to do with loose connection.

please suggest something else.

You need to tell us what is your computer specifications first of all. Secondly, what kind of ram are you using, ddr2 or just ddr? Do all the ram have similar frequency, MHz? Apart for that what blue screen error are you getting? Have you tried booting into safe mode and check whether your pc is shutting down again or it is not?
