Updater showing pending update in Linux mint 9

I updated my Linux mint 9. Now I have the problem with my system it is showing that there is a pending update in the system. How can I fix such type of error? Well the main problem is that I cannot get the source of such type of error. I thought it would be better if I ask you all. So could you please explain me the steps by which I can track the error. So anyone of you having any solutions then do let me know as soon as possible.

Well even I am facing this same type of problem. Even my system was showing me the same status and I was not able to fix it by any means. So what I did was just tried installing it again and after several attempts my problems got solved and now my updater does not show any messages of such kind. However I would like to add that your source of problem can be quite different from me. So I cant assure you that you will also get the same result as that of mine. I am advising you to just try and see if it works or not.

The reason for such type of problems may be due to the server. Sometimes the main error does get down and leads to such problems. So it is best to go with the mirroring method in the Linux mint. You can go and select any of the repository mirrors which is near to your location and it will do your rest of the task. So I think it is the best alternative if there is some problem with the repositories or servers. So do try with this solution and do let me know if it works or not.

Even I agree with the method to go with the repository mirrors. It is the best method alternative for the repository problems. Let me tell you the exact method to go with the repository mirror.
1) First go to the administrator option in the menu.
2) Then select the software sources which you will get from the download from option.
3) You have to select the others option.
4) After that the list of repository mirrors will appear before you. You just have to select a mirror which is nearer to your location.
Try with this solution it will definitely help you.

Hey thanks a lot. This method did solve my issue. Well I was wondering how to go with this error and I was not getting the appropriate solution for the same. When I heard about the mirror method I did not have much idea about that particular method and so I did some research In the internet, I happened to come across this method and I quite liked this method.
