    Cannot set the default menu

I am having the Bianca installed. All the things are working out well. I started to change to some different window themes and I don’t know how but In I misplaced my Mint menu. Now I am not able to get the default mint panel back. I tried all the things to get it back but cannot get it back. If you know that how can I do this then please let me know that. I will be thankful for all the helpful suggestion on this topic. Thank you very much in advance for replying to this post.

You can try one thing to solve the problem that you are getting. Just reboot your machine and after that click on the "Add to panel...” After clicking that, you have to select the Linux Mint Menu and apply that. It should let the Linux Mint Menu back to work. I have not tried this because never faced such issue therefore cannot say with the confident that this will resolve the issue.

Re: Cannot set the default menu

You will be able to add the Linux Mint Menu back. For that, you just have to right click on the panel and select Add to Panel and after that Linux Mint Menu. This will do the thing. If that is also not helpful to you then it is something related to the permission. You can run the command below and see if that can solve the issue for you.
    cd ~
    sudo rm -rf .linuxmint
This solves the same issue in my friend’s computer and I hope that this will do the same for you.

Try all the possible solutions and the suggestion that you know and if that solves the issue then it is good but if it cannot solve the issue then the one and only option that is left for you is to install the operating system again and this will solve the issue for you. There is possibility that the file responsible for that is replaced with some other file and so you are not able to restore that. Installing the operating system again will make all the default files for it and the problem will be solved.
