Unable to access internet connection on Linux

I am using normal desktop pc with windows XP running on it. Last night I replace it with Linux Mint ninth version. Everything was good. Today, Mint was telling me that there are some updates are available. Which I did. After reboot, I am unable to establish connection with internet. I tried to set up it using both wireless and Ethernet connection. I can’t go on the internet with Firefox or conqueror.

I search in at lot of places to find your solution for you. After searching on Google one basic think I come to know that if you connected are connected with internet and suddenly lost connection then first try to redo your internet connection suggested by Linux official site. After performing a redo operation there might be possibility of re-establishment of connection and there is no need to reboot your machine again and again. Always start to solve your problem using basic things never directly jump for a solution of re-install.

When there is a problem regarding unstable connection, unable to set up the connection and any problems related to functionality of the operating system of Linux I always suggest you to first check the output of the command “mintwifi”. It will show you all the settings and configuration of your personal computer. It will help you to check is anything wrong that you done with your computer that prevents you to establish an connection with internet.

There might be possibility that one of your hardware or software resources is blocked on your personal computer. And because of the block resource you are unable to establish connection with internet. So I am suggesting you following command to achieve same.
    Sudo rfkill list
If anyone from the both is marked as yes then use the following command

    Sudo rfkill unblock all

So check it out and let me come to know whether my solution works for you or not

If you are unable to find exactly what wrong with you pc then I suggest you to checkout all of your cables inside and outside of your home are connected properly or not. Reset your modem and router whichever you are using by unplugging them for about 40 to 60 seconds. Make a call to your ISP that is internet service provider and check is there everything is fine at their site. There might be issue that they may disconnect you for some security reasons and all that.
