my c drive is showing less space

my c drive drive is showing less free space than it actually has. it has a partition space of 39 gb and it is showing 2 gb free space. when i checked all the files and folders acquiring space than it came out to be less. what can be the reason for this problem.

Are other drives showing proper free space ? If yes, than theres no problem with your harddrive or system. There might be some hidden files on your C drive with lots of consuming space. Just make your system to make display the hidden files and than check if the space is proper or not.
