Need some hot keys for Linux system

I need some help on hot keys of Linux system. I want some ready to use keyboard shortcut. This just for some practice to avoid using mouse much an much. Actually I have a bad port for mouse. It works sometime and sometime suddenly the cursor halts on a single place. Some most common keyboard shortcuts can help me to work more easily. I have a older Linux system and I am planing to upgrade to Ubuntu. What I think the commands might be common for the terminal and gui. There might be some difference which can be figured out later one. Also how to determine a hot keys for the same. That means creating my own keyboard shortcut.

Here is a basic idea about how does this all things work out. The default shell on most Linux operating systems called the coup. There are two or three important hotkeys with which you should become familiar if you plan to spend much time at the command line. These shortcuts will save you a ton of time if you learn them. Some shortcuts in Linux are the most common and most useful in different types of linux distros. Like the tab is one of the most important keys. The tab is used to perform commands and filenames. If your are currently working in a folder then you can change the file type via this and navigate to different folders. If more than one folder beginning with Doc. pressing the label will carry the first case, alphabetical match. You can get all the alternatives starting with the Doc. pressing the label a second time.

There is a big list for the Linux commands. Also there are various distros already released with new addons. I will give you some command commands that I widely use on my system. The tab works the same way with orders, but orders are not completed by the first press Tab if more than one alternative. By typing gnome you get a list of all commands starting with the gnome. Here are some very command tab commands. If you press tab twice you can then add up the commands after that. Two press gives you result of all available commands. Sting + tab gives you all available commands starting with string. In the same way / tab shows the entire directory structure including hidden folders. In that way you can use *, ~,$,@,+, before tab to get more results.

I have some very useful shortcuts for Linux Shell commands. You can try them out for the results. Here if you press ctrl + d then it will exit terminal. It same as typing exit. In the same way if you press ctrl + l then it clears the screen. For cut and cancellation you can use ctrl +c and ctrl + z for a pause. There are just more command that will help you to navigate in the same. To go o the beginning of the line type ctrl + a and for the end use e. If yo use ctrl + then ti will clear the line before the cursor position. If you're at the end of the line, open space the entire line. And to remove a word before the cursor you can use ctrl + w. Some more functional commands are ctrl + h which works like backspace. Ctrl + y for pasting and Alt + i for lower case.

I use KDE and I have some commands that can be more helpful for you. CTRL + ESC gives you the table process of KDE system guard. Alt + F1 gives you the K-Popup Menu. On the same hand if you press Alt + F2 then you get Run command. For application command you have to use Alt + F3. Alt + F5 is used for Rapid Application Switcher and Alt + Tab is used to switch between open applications. If you are one a virtual terminal then are different commands. To switch to the first virtual terminal. In Linux, you can have several virtual terminals at the same time you can use ctrl + alt + f1. And if you press FN in place of F1 then you can switch to a specified virtual terminal. To get a detailed gui you will need to press ctrl + a.

It's really a simple manipulation we will do and which do not even need the command line. In the System tab bar at the top of the screen, click Preferences, then Keyboard Shortcuts. Scroll down to the heading Office > Launch a terminal, then click on the line. The status of this line then goes from Off to New Shortcut. To you use the combination of your choice! We'll take CTRL + ALT + T. You can add shortcuts to launch as many things as you want it to be programs, tasks or tools for configuring your distribution!
