Re: USB port not detected after installing Windows 7

Have you installed Windows 7 dual-boot with vista? If yes, have you tested the USB ports on the 2 OS? If it works under Vista, your USB drivers are probably outdated and incompatible with Windows 7. If not, your card is pci-usb can be decommissioned. And the second thing which I want to know here that your card supports pci-usb it does the standard usb 2? If so, and if this does not work, it can be a hardware problem, probably a PCI USB-off. Give the information for all these so that I will give you better solution for this issue.

I just want to recommend you before changing pci-usb:
    1. Attempt to disassemble your PC and check that your cards pci-usb is plugged. Reboot and test operation.
    2. Down the computer and disconnect the plug from the pci-usb. Pc restarts see the branch map to get that Windows 7 recognize your USB ports or not?

This problem occurs when no usb device n is permanently connected to the computer. The system believes that these ports are unused and deactivated to save energy. In the Device Manager in Control Panel, open the line "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
    • Made-right-click on the "USB Root Hub" and click "Properties"
    • In-tab "Power Management" uncheck the box "allow computer to turn off this device to save energy"
    • Click "OK" and close the dialog box
    • Apply this solution on all ports under investigation
    • In the Device Manager in Control Panel, open the line "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
    • Made-right-click on the "USB Root Hub" and click "Properties"
    • Click on the tab stop and walk "to display the energy required by each Periperi listed" device attached "and validates the" reload "button.
    • Applying this second solution incriminated each port

Check if you have it in your base register. Before making any changes, make a backup.
    1. Just go to Start / Run then type regedit to navigate to the registry.
    2. Then go to the stick: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ UsbStor
    3. The value of START defined if the ports are usb active or not.
    4. Put this value to 4 if you want to disable, or 3 to reactivate them.

I had already applied your first proposal. I am facing the second. I updated each concentrator (here the intensity of each hub:

    - 6 ports / 0 mA

    - Storage Device USB Mass / 500 mA and 3 port (s) available (s)

    - Mouse HID / 100 mA USB Composite / 70 mA

    - 2 por (s) available (s) / 0 mA

    - 2 por (s) available (s) / 0 mA
    - Consumer control device according to Human Interface Devices (HID) / 100 mA and an available port / 0mA
