    EAX support in Windows 7

I have gone through a conflicting information about EAX effect . I got to know from somewhere that Windows 7 has come up with a software wrapper that is capable of supporting EAX up to 4.0, but at the time of selecting that setting in a game called as Civilization 4 Beyond the Sword, I encounter a sound issue . I came to know about a tool called ALchemy that is meant for Windows Vista also is compatible in Windows 7, but when I try to use it my game crashes out , I wanted to know that how I can get the EAX effects feature in the Windows 7 operating system ?

If you want the EAX effects in your system in which you have windows 7 operating system you will have to put directory in Alchemy This may apply to many games aided by Alchemy; they search for the gamedir through windows registry--however the registry entries are only present with retail versions and not with Steam versions of games. Let me know if are satisfied with the solution .

Well I think you should download the updated driver for the sound card , you will have to download it from the manufacturer's website in a folder that you will have to save in a folder in the desktop. Remove the audio card from device manager, after that uninstall the driver and program that is right now installed in a folder that is named as Control Panel-Uninstall programs- for the audio card.

After uninstalling the driver , move to the SETUP.EXE of the audio card application that you downloaded and saved it your desktop. You will have to make certain changes in the properties, you will have to run as an Administrator for this and run the software in other compatible mode , so it can be either windows xp and Windows 7, once the correct platform is chosen , you can install the program .

I hope the above will almost will give the proper resolution , as it will help you in getting the device work fine as you wanted , if it does not work is some information regarding the Virtual PC that may be useful. Keep in mind, however, as they are moving toward to release of Windows 7 but till the compatible version is not released you will have to run in the Virtual mode , that is use either the Windows xp mode or the Windows Vista mode. I am expecting you to give your views as well on this.
