Does windows 7 support pagemaker documents

I have recently brought a HP quad processing 64 bit computer. Now it is new and i am confused on which operating system should i run my CPU. The hp people have said that the hp can be upgraded to windows 7. Now i have a lot of documents on the pagemaker software. I was thinking that windows 7 would also support the pagemaker documents but recently when i was going through the some of the windows 7 forums i found out that the windows 7 does not support pagemaker documents. So i was thinking of switching to the Microsoft windows xp. Which is a user friendly operating system. I am not sure whether it will be available now or not. So i am confused. Please do let me know what can i do in this situation. Does windows 7 support pagemaker documents? Please do reply as soon as possible.

If you ask me i would suggest you to go with the windows 7. As even i have heard that windows 7 is not compatible with the pagemaker documents. However what you can do is that you can create a virtual environment of the xp in the windows 7. However this is possible only in the Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise or Ultimate edition. You can try running the virtual environment of xp in the windows 7 and the pagemaker document will easily run in such type of environment. The steps for setting up of virtual xp can be easily found anywhere in the internet. So do try with this suggestion and you will be able to run pagemaker documents using windows 7.

Well after going through your question. I searched the internet to find some solution. I basically came to the conclusion that you can run pagemaker in the windows 7. Search the adobe sites and you will find the necessary updates for the pagemaker documents for the users of the windows 7 32 bit as well as the 64 bit. So do get updated from that particular site and you will have no problem regarding such issue. So go ahead with the solution.

Hey every one just wanted to inform you all that i have tried with the first solution specified by the user and let me tell you it works perfectly well in the virtual windows xp. Though the speed could have been better but its just a virtual environment so no big issues regarding it. However i have also heard that you can double boot your system by installing two operating systems in one CPU. In case you are thinking of trying that then you must install the old operating system first i.e. windows xp first and then the windows 7. Anyone who have tried with this solution then let me know.

Hey thanks for the support all of you. Appreciate your efforts that you have put in to solve the issue. I am thinking to go with the windows 7 only. Simply because i don't want the complications to arrive with the virtual xp or two operating systems running in one CPU. So i would better stick with the windows 7 and try to look for the updates in the adobe websites.Hopefully i could find one.
