Getting error:The unattend answer file contains an invalid product key while installing windows 7

I am having the dell vostro laptop with the windows XP installed on it and that too with the Intel core2 duo. Recently I have decided to upgrade the operating system to windows 7 but in between the installation I get the error message saying that: "The unattend answer file contains an invalid product key" I don’t know why I am getting this error and also unable to solve the same. Does anyone ever have faced this issue if yes then please let me know how to solve the same.

Well the error clearly says that it requires the original product key and it seems to me that you are using the wrong one. So what you have to do here is that just use the proper key or then demand the same from Microsoft. Just try and contact the Microsoft support and then demand for the product key which will cost you a bit, but will solve the issue permanently.

If you will ask me then I will suggest you try and use the proper source for installing the setup. Actually if the setup is being used by anyone else earlier than you will not be able to use the same on your system. Or it may have also happen that the setup that you are trying to install is corrupted. So what you have to do here is that just install the windows 7 from any other source.

I have gone through your problem and it seems to me that you have to do the clean boot for installing the operating system. I was also facing the similar kind of problem few days back and I think that you are also going through the same phase. And if you have to solve this issue and set it up permanently then just do the clean boot. I did the same thing and fixed the issue.

Then you for considering my issue and also for spending the vital time for finding the solution but the thing is that not a single one of the thing here helped me. I checked the disk it is the original disc with 3 user license. And the error is still creeping up with each an ever time of the installation of windows 7. Also the disk that I am using it is purchased from a trusted source. Please help me in this case.
