    USB ports are not responding?

Everything was working fine for last night for my desktop computer. Next morning when I turned on the computer then I was not able to do anything with keyboard and mouse. In fact all the devices that are connected to the computer via USB have stopped working. I tried my mouse and the keyboard to other computer ant it was working fine there. Please help me soon guys because I am not able to login to the system as I can’t enter the password. Thank you very much in advance.

This sounds like the driver for the USB that is installed in your system is corrupted and so all the USB ports that are there in your computer is not working. You should uninstall the driver for the USB and install that again. If you are getting the same problem again then you can search for the latest driver available on internet and if it is available then download and install that. Many of the times, I have seen that updating the driver solves the issues like this. I hope this will do the same for you.

You should open the computer management and confirm that the USB ports are not disabled from there. To open that, just right click on my computer select manage. This will open a new window for computer management. From the left panel you can check the USB port. If it has yellow sign then that means that it is disabled. Right click on it and select enable. Do this for all the ports and this will make them to function. You can also check the systems BIOS. This will help you to check if it is the hardware problem.

I think that you need to repair the operating system. To do that, you should insert the OS CD into computer and restart the computer. Press Enter to boot from CD. After loading files to the system, it will ask you the option for installation. There you have to press”R” key to select the option for repairing. After that it will do the rest of the things on itself. After completion, it will reboot the system and will solve the problem that you are facing.

You can try the suggestions that are posted above and see whether that is helping you or not. If you have tried all the posted solution and other possible solutions for this then you should do a clean install of the operating system. This will create new files for OS. If possible then install with a different copy of the setup. This is because if the setup itself is corrupted then installing from the same setup will give you the same result.
