Fonts are Fuzzy and Blurry in Windows 7

Hello friends, I have installed the latest RC of Windows 7. In that I found that the fonts seems to be very blurry. The worst and the bad thing is that the fonts are all fuzzy now. They are not smooth anymore and also some of the alphabets seem to be thick and some of them are too thin. It is really causing headache to me and it also hurt my eyes. I wasted most of the time finding for the resolution but I didn’t get anything to solve it. Since I am using the LCD monitor it is creating the problem. I was very happy to upgrade the Windows 7 but it is unusable for me. I have an nvidia graphics card and also the most powerful processor available to me.Please help I don’t want to lose Windows 7. There may some solution for it.

Try out this and see whether it help you to solve it: Unselect all the clear type, first right click on to the My computers from that click to properties, now click on to the Advanced system settings, under the performance option choose the settings, in that check Smooth edges of screen fonts and lastly click OK. This may solve your blurriness but the brightness will remain the same. Also try to uninstall the drivers you have and install it back from the website. Try to uninstall the monitor drivers for the LCD monitors.

My friend was also having the same problem. He said to me that the Windows 7 is very fussy with some of the applications. We try to make certain adjustment in it. The screen DPI resolution dramatically improved the overall appearance. To do it first go on to the Desktop and right click the Screen Resolution. In that page go down and select the option Make text and other items larger or smaller, after that set the custom size DPI. Also slide the DPI resolution size as appropriate, try to make the resolution as the multiple of 5 or 10. Hope it will work

Most of the LCD monitors is having the native resolution; if it is being set to the different resolution then it will create the screen view as distorted and the blurry as you said. I will suggest you to set the screen resolution to 1024x768 for the 17" monitor, as it use to work in Vista as well as Windows 7 OS. Also you can try to upgrade or update the video card driver by visiting to the web page of the manufacturers and download it from there instead of using the Update Driver function in to the Device Manger, as this will only update to a driver from Microsoft.

My suggestion to you is to do the power cycle of your computer and check if you is being able to get the resolution of your computer. Follow this step to do the power cycle of the system:
    1. First shut down your system in the proper way with the help of the start menu
    2. Then unplug its entire pin and power cables from the computer. If using the laptop remove the battery of the laptop.
    3. Also turn off all your internet connection if you have.
    4. Wait for some time after all the connection is being removed from the system. It can speed up the process as you wait, then by pressing the power button from your unplugged system will help to drain all the remaining power in your computer motherboard.
    5. Reconnect all your connection to the computer system. Also connect all the internet wires to the system. After connecting all the things turn on your computer system normally.
After completing it change the resolution of the screen to the maximum and then check whether it works. The resolution depends on the resolutions your monitor supports. If the issue persists, I will finally suggest you to call the computer manufacturer or the graphic card manufacturer and check if the display adapter is working fine and if they have any updates to fix it.

Try to perform the system restore to the date before the problem get started and test whether it helps you to solve the problem. To restore your operating system to an earlier point in time, perform these steps: 1) click on to the Start Menu on the desktop, go to the search box and in that system restore and after that select the System Restore from the list of the programs. If it display the message for the administrator password type the password and continue with it. 2) Select the different restore point from the System Restore dialog box and then click next. 3) From the list of the system restore dialog box select the different restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click the next. 4) Finish it.
After this computer restarts and then the system files and the settings are come back to the state that was there at the time when the system restore point was created.

Is still it does not helps you out then try to uninstall the drivers of the display and then install the latest version of drivers by accessing the nVidia web page and from there check for the help. To uninstall the device from the device manager be sure to perform this steps: go to the Start menu form that select the control panel, from the control panel select the System, from that click to the Hardware, and then Device Manager. Open the Device Manager and expand the Display adapter. Form it select the nVidia display adapters and uninstall it. Keep in mind while uninstalling it you place a check mark against "Delete the driver software for this device". Also update the drivers for your display adapter from device manager and then check if it helps you out.
