After changing the account name it doesn't change the corresponding user's folder name in windows 7

I am using windows 7 in my recently purchased laptop that is from the HP pavilion. I need the information regarding the issue which I am currently suffering from. Actually the problem is that whenever I am changing my user account names it the change is takes place but not in the whole system I mean it doesn’t change the name of the corresponding folder. I want to know that why after changing the account name it does not change the corresponding user’s folder name in windows 7. I am asking you because my friend is doing the same in his windows XP system. Please help.

I think you are getting something wrong from your friend as there no way to change the folder name while you will change the user account name. So live it as it is as you cannot perform such action in the C drive of the system if you will try to do something like this then it will not takes place. So go to your friend and ask him whether he is performing this action in the C drive or in any other drive. In the last I would like to tell you that you are wasting your time to do so as this is by design in windows. Hope this information was useful.

It sort of overcomes the worth of altering the account name if you require keeping in mind and using the older name at whatever time you are by means of the directory arrangement. The entire point to altering the name as of what the producer set up is to build my life easier. But if I require utilizing 2 dissimilar account names for the similar account depending on what I'm burden that create my life more hard not easier. If this action is "by design" it entitles into query the result process when creating the design.

There is no easy method to perform it. You can alter the "welcome" first name, however the profile doesn't alter. If you desire together changed, you could utilize moreover the "profile copy tool" or windows simple transport. It would chiefly signify backing up the accessible profile, sorting in as "Administrator," deleting the client completely, recreating the client with the appropriate name, and reinstate the profile into that client name. If this is not helpful to you then add the steps given below:
    • Make a fresh administrator account by means of the name you desire.
    • Duplicate every of the stuffing from the older account's C:\Users\(user-name) directory to the equivalent fresh account's C:\Users\(user-name) directory.
    • Later than the whole thing ensure out OK now you can remove the older client account from inside the original account. Hope this will help you to get the desired solution.
