TinyCore Linux isn't established here according to the size

I have downloaded Tinycore.gz file (which is reside in my iPod) & was opinion of installing it in my 128 MB CF Card. Although finally I manage to boot up this VAIO VGN AR250G notebook from the card (this notebook has no HD) it was working at a crawling speed which isn't satisfactory. So now you know why I've tinycore: thought that the size of the OS had an impact on the speed with which it functions, probably too the place from which it's loaded (in this case, the said card), too.Is it possible to install?
tinycore in the special card with no burning it first to a CD first? Even more, can I do have a live CD with more than one of the distro setup there and a require menu at startup for making my selection of which distro setup to load?
If all puppy operating system is running from RAM I still don't know why it (Lucid 511) was so slow in all its reaction (mouse pointer movement, keyboard characters input, etc.) & nobody answer my understood question around this to this date (in still another place here). Is there any hint as to where to appear for some info will be very much respected.

Well it look like it can be done. Tiny Core Linux is a very tiny (12 MB) minimum Linux GUI Desktop. It is specifically based on Unix or Linux kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, & Fltk. The tinycore runs entirely in ram and it boots very quickly. You haven't known us much. I am going to take it you have eliminate problem around why your laptop is so slow. Since it is due to the Lack of Ram? Access of speed ? Lack of swap space? USB port 2 properly driven should give you 12 Megs/S which is slow, but not catastrophic unless you're running kde software.Let's make believe you have enough ram that can make your work very efficient. We would start by building a kernel in the operating system, with everything your Sony viao needs compiled into it, and completely nothing else. Build this on another drive! Make sure the cable which is plugged in your phone is good, or you are down to speed of 1MB/S and USB port 1.0 which is a cheat.
If you have battery life in great quantity, you might be able to hang up to ram most of the time, and leave it booted up.
As a computing option, btw, I think it is a fluke crap. Try to get some HD/USB port port disk for your Sony viao, or else use the brains in your p-phone, which you'll almost certainly get more out of if you can read it. If you what a uclibc based system to compile with, kevux does that in a live cd.

First of all, this laptop has minimum of 512MB of RAM. When we talking about "access speed" I get confused, are you checking to access to the internet or to the card itself? In relation to the card I must say it come with a USB port adapter & I create it in a Motorola cell phone box. It's a 128MB (as advertised, but it always show that in reality its useful capacity is around 120MB space). You can try the Lucid installation connecting the card in 2 different ways: first with the help of adapter in a USB port port & inserting the card itself in its intended slot. The final working installation was made when the card was inserted in the suitable slot or in a port.
Now, I'm just about to tell you some assumptions I've made. When I startup the system with the live cd I've the same RAM as when I start it with the card. The card is inserted in its slot & I assume it's as fast or even faster (its access speed) than a USB port connection. The startup process is, probably, slower than with the cd but I'm referring strictly to the presentation of the programs running after Lucid is running, properly. Here we are comparing its performance with DSL running from a 64MB RAM mp3 player in another defunct laptop which had just 128MB of RAM & a slower CPU.

In relative to the "Swap space" thing I've my worries, too. Do you mean to set aside some ram for that purpose manually? Within the card itself? If the answer is the latter one then I must say that at the installation of Lucid I partitioned all the space available as a single one to be used whole for Lucid; I'm not sure if I can change that now without having to install it a new...With reverence to the USB port point I will just say that the card running from its slot & not with the USB port adapter. I must say with reverence to the kde clause you use that I think I m not using it.With respect to making some swap space I must say that this notebook has no internal HD (the main reason for thinking of putting a local operating system' in the card in the first place).
