Getting an issue in installing checkinstall in lfs

I have read a book on the LFS and got much information about it. Actually I want to add a package manager to the system I am using. I want to install the checkinstall as I am using Slackware and In have downloaded this from the slackware 8.0 and moved all the file as per the instruction given to me. Though, when I leave to run checkinstall to insert the recently installed checkinstall to the manager it departed as far as requesting me what package I desire to generate, I decide slackware (s) and after that it not succeed with the error that the instaallpkg program is not in your path slackware package creation aborted. What do I do to get the desired solution?

Re: Getting an issue in installing checkinstall in lfs

I have tried to install the checkinstall last night and install it with no problem as it was a latest version of the checkinstall. But after that night when I checked that I have got that checkinstall is just expired. I don’t know how this is possible as I have recently installed checkinstall in the system. Will anyone can suggest me to get the solution. Thanks for the solution in advance.

To get the solution for the problem you should try using the Debian permission as the root of the checkinstall. As Debian is not use the sudo as a script command. If you will use this for Ubuantu the problem will be solved use the following command I am giving below:
    Code:
    sudo <uID> checkinstall
. I think you should use the Ubuntu.I think this will help you to get the solution.

I think this problem is related to the famous problem called “which” problem. You can get the solution in the book in the “which” section in the lfs book. For solving the problem you can create a script or you can also install the real program by following the instruction in the book. As soon as you will create the command from the book you will be able make your checkinstall work very fine. So go through the book thoroughly

I want to know which version you are trying to install into the system. Check the version you are installing should be the latest one as per the system requirement. I think the version you are installing may be a bug in the version. Which can be fixed using the next version of the checkinstall? Try changing the version you are installing in the system with the next newest version. I think doing this will resolve the solution.
