    Geexbox or MythTV or Freevo?

Hi to all the members of the forums, well I have come here to have an advice on with which thing actually I should go with. Actually I have three options standing in front of me and I will be really happy if some one can help me fetch me the correct one and at the same time a useful one for me. Well I have done a lot of googling on the Internet and I have seen that there is no much difference between the three of them. Or I would say that I was unable to find the loop hole in any one of them. I will really happy if any one of you will come up with some real thoughts on the same. I have in my options Geexbox, MythTV and Ereevo. A complete description on the same is really going to help me guys. Please let me know about the same. I am waiting for your posts to come soon to me. Please come up with valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Well it would have been really nice if you would have written in your post what you actually want from us. From the previous posts of yours I have not seen anything that is really describing your problem or what is the actual thing that you want to have. I think that you are confused regarding the choice and you want us to have a distinction between the Three of the choices that you have mentioned above. Please let me get notified if that is what you want to have from us here.

You have asked to give some description about the three choices but I am sorry to say that I have with me only one, but I am sure that the other members will definitely come up with the rest. By the time you can just have a look at the same and see if that is up to the mark. At the very moment I have the GeeXboX with me and I think that it will really nice to start with the same. GeeXboX is a free Linux distribution that provides a media center software suite and that too for personal computers. For the Media Playbak the GeeXboX utilizes the MPlayer. Also I want to add that it can be only implemented using the Live CD. As for implementing the GeeXboX a live CD is used hence the system does not need to be permanently installed to a hard drive occupying the space. Whenever the media playback is preferred the computer can be booted with the GeeXboX CD. Hence I think that it is the best option to go with.

I want to have the things cleared and hence I have some points that can clear the idea behind the GeeXboX. Well to start with let me tell you that GeeXboX is not an application but it is a free and Open Source Media-Center. It is basically projected for the various Linux distributions. It is mainly used for the entrenched devices and desktop computers. In addition to that I want to say that it is a full-featured OS. One can use it for booting as that is done using the LiveCD. On the other hand I just want to conclude that the GeeXboX distribution is lightweight and is actually designed for one single ambition and that ambition is to entrench all chief multimedia applications so that the system of yours can be converted into an HTPC.

I would rather love to talk about the Myth TV. I see it as a definitive Digital Video Recorder and on the same note a home media center hub. It is a free open source home entertainment application. In addition to that it has a simplified 10-foot user interface that is intended for the living-room TV. The good thing about the Myth TV is that it can turn on the computer without using the unwanted things. It makes use of the essential hardware into a network streaming digital video recorder. It has a better support for the HDTV and hence I think will be better when compared with the others. It can capture the unencrypted HDTV streams. Also in addition to that the MythTV software has been seen having the support for the TV tuner cards, which is fully compatible with the V4L-DVB kernel drivers. On the same note if we want we can say that it is a better alternative for the Tivo.

Let us talk about the Freevo. It actually permits you in such a manner that you can administer your entire digital media collection. The media collections includes music, videos, photos etc. All the media collections can be used or say can be managed using the remote controlled TV interface. Also all these media applications can be accessed using the built in web interface. It also permits you on the same time to have a look at the TV guide and accordingly schedule the recordings from any part of the world. The most important and the beneficial thing is that it has 100% DRM and at the same time is capable of playing 99.99% of various video formats. I think with this Freevo must be leading the race at the moment.
