    WinClone For Windows 7

I just made buying a new iMac, so I naturally wanted to get my data from the old, which happens to be an iMac. In the first started the i3, no problems with the migration wizard, and anything goes for OS / X. Or is this the gate is with the Bootcamp partition and installed Windows 7. This spoil .... Yes and no it's rather that I do not know how much I servile of this software is Winclone on the net are not very clear on some points:
    • I made the backup bootcamp partition and I got a file corresponding to the size occupied by Seven and my data on the old disk.
    • To know that my new iMac is a core I3 27, therefore the characteristics and various Windows operating systems do not match the hardware.

    What should I do?
    1. Create a new partition bootcamp, install, Seven, and do a restore Winclone? (This will not overwrite my new installation of Seven cool with all the drivers for I3?)
    2. Create a new partition bootcamp, and directly install the backup? (What about the drivers of my old CoreDuo, map graph .... with the new computer ...)

That I do not know what to do, and if you had the solution before I do stupid things.

I suggest you delete your partition (with bootcamp assistant -> delete a partition) and then re-create, install windows from CD and then put the drivers and finally give your personal data. When you change the partition size Bootcamp, think to resize the file system of Windows. Have you thought about using the "Expand Windows Filesystem" from the Tools menu Winclone? It would be better if you answer this queries, so that I (and other members) will able to help you.

Check the boot.ini file to make gold BCD that sure Windows is referencing the correct partition. Also, make sure that's the target that you are onto has Restoring The Same As The type of processor your one from the image Created. The task of Winclone, therefore, is to ensure that what you copy is not only a mass of data, but full installation of the beloved / hated Microsoft's operating system. In fact, the procedure is not without risks, but do not worry this program will always warns of the dangers, and if you have sensitive data on your Boot Camp partition, you would do just as well to save them elsewhere for safekeeping.

Here it is worth pointing out that Winclone only works with NTFS partitions, which in some cases modified to make them "disabled" on different volumes. Since it is possible to "migrate" Windows in a different location than your home, thanks to this program you can also do something that OS X does not allow you to do: increase the size of the partition for Boot Camp without reinstalling everything from scratch . It 'simply relocate the cloned image of Windows on the new partition after having reviewed the size. In fact, restore Windows with this program is an operation of disarming ease. Just select the partition or volume is intended, and click Restore (Be careful though, Winclone erase everything that is on a partition on which it intends to place your backup!). It is also worth to point out one more thing: this program obeys your commands, but Windows always does his own thing: if you plan to reinstall on a Mac with a processor or just different hardware, you will have problems. Or not work, or you'll have to reinstall the Boot Camp drivers.

To do this we will make use of Winclone. A small application that can create a backup and restore a Boot Camp partition with the copy previously made. First things first. The first is to download and once ready Winclone run. For the operation of Winclone is essential to have ntfsprogs installed, a UNIX libraries for working with partitions that use the NTFS format. Just after starting download ntfsprogs Winclone give us if we do not have installed or updated if hurt. Now, once all right inside the window Winclone we have two tabs: one to create backup and the second to restore. On the first tab we can select the partition you want to create the backup, choose the location where you will be saved and add a small description if we have more copies made by Winclone. Then we give the Image button and start the process automatically, after introducing our administrator password.
