If you wanted to make the USB bootable the i will advise you to install the UNetbootin which can create a bootable Live USB drive. All you have to do is to install the application into the system and after that you have to follow the instruction that can help you with the same. I have used the same and liked it most. If you can then go through the same.

I have the solution to your problem: but you need a USB key several GO being the fact that the system is between 4 and 5 GB (but the handling is the same for an external hard drive formatted your USB key with the disk utility Mac OS X and formatting options are selected "GUID Partition Table"
Clone X then download the software and smith Clone X. Selects your internal hard drive and choose your destination or usb external hard drive and then follow instruction. For starting on your USB key or external HD restart your computer pressing the alt key then select your USB drive in the boot menu that appears

I dual boot mac OSX 10.5 and the latest version of Fedora Linux. I created a bootable key fedora for my part I am not passed by UNetbootin, because I do not like very restrictive for my taste, I prefer to go through the old terminal, which is very complete to create a "persistent memory" and
if you want the doc about this I'd give you the link created the bootable key to boot in bios will not work under mac because it has no bios but of
there is still a command-line market supposed to make it bootable key Intel mac but try this for not walking, that this problem can be solved and now, to check!

Indeed, no CD drive on the eeePC, it must therefore pass through a bootable USB drive to begin installation. And this is where things may get complicated. You have your USB drive, the file. Img, your Mac and eeepPC. Open Terminal and enter the Mac command line to turn the image of the distribution to the USB key bootable and make everything on the eeePC.

Ok regarding the Mac, apparently it will not boot ever with my USB key. But normally it should work on eeePC because it runs Linux. Right, this is to boot an EeePC and not a Mac. I hope that you will like all then detail about the same and work with the issue which you are going through. Will update this post if found any more detail about the same.
