Booting Satellite A105 to Recovery Disk

I bought a Satellite A105-S2716. I need to reformat the drive and perform the reinstallation of factory default installation. I am unable to have the system to boot to the recovery DVD. I have tried to go with the F12 or the C key during startup, but every time I issue , it boots up with the Windows XP on the hard drive. Considering that I had worst media, I ordered a new recovery disk and I found the same results with this also.

What I have to do through which it can boot to the recovery disk. I find the same hard to believe that I would have to perform the reformation of the hard drive to boot this from the optical drive.

I think that you are able to read the whole DVDs from the optical drive working with the Windows. The issue may be occurred jst because of the broken BIOS in this situation . You need to try for the flashing of that .

There is other alternative, you are able to change the boot priority within the BIOS so that the optical drive would be detected at the initial stage . You can do the same from Windows on the Boot Priority tab within the HWSetup. Enter into the location as Start => All Programs => Toshiba => Utilities.

My Satellite A105 wont boot up.

My Satellite A105-S1712 is working upon the Windows XP and received one of those viruses that disguises themselves as the antivirus programs "Antivir Pro". It is not allowing me to go for the recovery disk or perform a system recovery. Currently, Windows would not even boot up. I received the message as

"Windows will not start because file is missing or corrupt:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CONFIG\SYSTEM".

There is nothing here that I can do and got feasible . Am I just screwed. Will purchasing a latest one hard drive and working with the recovery disk save this laptop.

At this point of time, you are able to go using DBAN to clean up the drive then after go for the recovery disk to perform the system restore to it's factory out of box state. You also can pull out the drive and connecting this up to a working system with a best one AntiVirus program which is properly updated to find out if it is able to clean out the disk of the entire malware. You are able to do it with a USB adapter or an external USB hard drive enclosure.

The System drive transferred an necessary branch of your registry. Windows will not act properly without this . Unless you have made provisions in advance and it needs some technical sophistication to repair the same . It seems that there is something going wrong with your hard drive. You need to restore its components with the help of Toshiba recovery media. That will delete the virus. Restore the drive also . Order your recovery discs from Toshiba...
