    No boot after restore

I got a virus popup on my screen and after that without doing anything a virus scan started working. I restarted several times to stop that and then run system restore. After that my system restarted and there is no boot at all. I faced blue screen for sometime. I have my important data and several backups in that. Without formatting how can I fix this out. Thanks.

If you have the Windows 7 DVD then insert the drive in and start the PC. Then make sure properly that you from the DVD. After a proper boot choose Repair Computer and then follow the path to Startup Repair. Let it scan Windows and fix your boot file. This happens when your system bootmanager crashes. Make sure that the CD contains the 2 files BOOT & SPRINGS BOOTMGR.

I have a similar issue due to one game which I had installed and the same has crashed my system. In my case when I insert the disc the startup repair tool does not detect anything. The System Restore tool has only two backups, neither of the two ends until the end of the restoration. The tool total restoration of the computer cannot find any restore point and the memory diagnostic tool does not work.

So after booting the WinRE CD then you can directly choose Repair Computer and then click on Startup Repair. If the repair with WinRS has failed, then tried Bootrec.exe orders. Relaunching the experiment with the CD WinRE but instead to Startup Repair you open a command prompt. Copy and paste the following commands to validate by
Enter first and then adding 1 line = 1 command. \
    c:
    cd \
    cd boot
    Bootrec.exe / fixmbr

For error there is a dump reported provided in Windows which you can read and find the cause of issue. The issue of blue screen is mostly related to hardware or ram failure. It can also be due to corrupt driver files in the system. Just check that your system is not heating up and clear dust from the cpu.

While the installation DVD of Vista allowed to create a repair disk, Windows 7 includes this tool directly in the system installed on the hard disk. It is now possible to create a disk repair Windows without using the DVD, which is more convenient. You must be aware about the same and before when your system is up always keep a repair disc. It will help you to restore your data back.

I think The master boot record has been damaged. To repair the startup environment in Windows, it uses the utility called Bootrec.exe. Run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start the Windows Recovery Environment. For that insert the installation disk of Windows Vista in the drive, then start the computer. Run the cmd and then type
Bootrec.exe. Then type the following commands :
    bcdedit / export C: \ BCD_Backup
    c:
    cd boot
    attrib bcd-s-h-r
    ren c: \ boot \ bcd bcd.old
    bootrec / RebuildBcd
    Restart the computer.
