Window 7 is not allowing the backup

I am having an issue with the Windows 7 which i have installed recently and when trying to take the backup of the system it is not allowing me to take the back up of the system. The back up fails at the 74% only. i have also tried taking the back up through the system image but that also fails. So if any one can help me then please step ahead. Thank you.

It seems that there are some of the issue with the back up files only. It might be not enabled and that is why giving the fail issue. If you wanted to resolve the issue then go through the below given step that will help you for same.

    • Select the Backup User and System Data Files
    • On the Right pane click on Turn off the ability to backup data files
    • Click on Edit

If you are using any kind of the utility for taking the backup of the system then let me know about the same so that i can check that and will guide you regarding the same. Also if possible then let me know which error you are getting while trying to back up the data, so that i can understand the problem in advance.

If there is issue with the creating the backup disk then i will advise you to take the back up in the External hard drive which is the better option for taking back and restore it whenever it is needed. I will advise you to take back in external hard drive and keep it on some other place. If you are having the external drive then do this now.

I think that window 7 creates safety copies of your most important files, so if you lose something, it won't be lost forever. To set up a backup in Windows 7, try to open up Computer right-click on your local drive and select Properties, after that click on the tools tab and click the Back up now button, I think that this will help you.

I think that your systems Volume Shadow copy services are not started that is why you are unable to create the back up of the system. I will advise you to start the Volume Shadow services and work with the issue that you are getting.
    1. Click on Start
    2. Click on All Program
    3. Click on Administrative Tools
    4. Click on Services
    5. Right click on Volume Shadow
    6. Select Start
