I think there might be naming issue. If you have name not set properly on both the machine then it might be possible that you will get the things of your working. The name of the shared printer and name of the Mac printer should match only then only you can add both of them together otherwise it will not work.

    • Click 'Turn Windows Features on or off'
    • Here you will see LPD protocol, turn it On
    • Make sure that printer is shared

    Macintosh:
    • Click on Applications
    • Then to Utilities
    • Select Printer Setup Utility
    • Hold down the "Option" key and click the "More Printers" button
    • Select Advance from pop menu

If your problem is still not resolved then it might be possible that the Printer driver of your system is not is not functioning properly and that is why you are getting the issue with the Sharing on the Mac. So if possible then install the Windows 7 compatible Printer driver into the system and check whether it is working this time or not.

If the Windows users install Bonjour for Windows, you can share your printer with them using Bonjour. To share a printer, open the Print & Fax preferences, then click sharing. Select the option to share printers and select the printers you want to share. Use the Bonjour Printer Wizard on the Windows computer to set up to print to your printer. For more visit this.
