Restoring stock OS on Dell Mini 10v

Just acquired a 10v a few days previously and got it a day or so later after that. I stuck OS X on it and I love it it's a very cool petite system. However, it is just not something I feel I need I guess even though I felt I did. I am going to be returning it but I do want to make sure if I do return it I can at least restore the regular OS or maybe even just clean the HD off as an substitute of having OSX on it and have them get all messed at me and maybe try to blame me saying the reason I was returning it was because I installed some non-native OS on it (I don't know if they'd do that or not, I rarely have to revisit anything I buy).

If you can use that CD/DVD drive on some another computer system then you would be able to install Windows by using the thumb drive using WinToFlash or a similar utility.
WinToFlash starts a wizard that will help pull over the contents of a windows installation CD or DVD and prep the USB drive to become a bootable replacement for the optical drive. It can also do this with your LiveCD.

It's in fact very much easy with WinToFlash, but the Dell would not be showing any problem in accepting a return if its running an Ubuntu. They are going to clean and reimage it anyway before sending it to some other user. So it most likely doesn't create an issue what you have on it. From that point of view, it might not be creating any issue if you leave Mac OSX on it, either.

I would be at your place then i guess i would be selling it privately as Dell has stopped selling it in the US, Canada and the UK. And it would be even better if you have Mac OS X on it, though it is illegal. I guess it would be selling in a bit better price then an original one. And it depends on you whether you can make some more bucks or not.

I think you should take a backup of your MAX OS X without any tension as it can be restored easily if you have taken the backup in a proper way. I would like to suggest you to take the backup of this os on a separate drive so that nothing interfere with it. You may install that later on any computer system that you want.
