How to restore Windows by Bart Pe Builder

    Hi,
I had heard that it is possible to get data back via live cd created from Bart PE Builder. Bart PE Builder is a utility for creating a Live CD Windows XP. From an XP installation CD or installation files for XP, Bart PE Builder creates a mini Windows on a medium (CD or USB key) where we can start. I need help in using this on my system. Thanks in advance.

To integrate a service pack, click on the menu then source and integrate, then complete the following fields. First Define the source folder containing the installation files for Windows and then set the name and location of the file to install the service pack. If you clicked on Source read only in the case of a copy from the source CD / DVD, set the destination folder of the installation files and Service Pack. Click OK

In the main window of Bart PE set the folder that will be performed to create the ISO file (default BartPE) before burning and then check on create ISO image. After that you can define the location which is the drive and folder name of the copy (on CD), and the name of the ISO file. Importantly, it is possible to automatically integrate a previously downloaded Windows Service Pack.

This option is offered to first launch PE Builder, otherwise it is possible to get through the menu, then select Find source. The program informs you of different installation files for Windows. Then click OK to continue and then select the source directory from which PE Builder will make its copies. Copies are faster than hard disk CD player, thus a preferred source of a copy of a hard drive if possible. Click on the menu, then ource and then check to ensure that the files to install are available.

You just need a blank CD and any version of Windows. Then you need desired plug-ins that PE Builder supports. If do not have installation CD, the \ I386 folder (installation files for Windows) may help you then. When creating the boot CD for XP, Bart PE Builder will need a valid version of Windows or an installation CD / restoration or the Windows installation files (i386 folder).

I had created a split file from this. Actually I was not having space in a partition so I had selected Split large files option by which the data is chopped into pieces. The best format suggested for backup is Zip or Compressed. Because it can compress the size of the image by 40%, the backup time will also be longer. This is much better as compare to older format.

In addition to image files, two additional files are created which is .xmlw which describes the reader. It is a text file. The other one is .dat which contains the binary data of the drive for which the image was created. This allows access to stored data without having to restore them. Beware, it is impossible to restore a partition that is used to start Windows.
