    20" iMac won't boot after 10.6.3 update

I have downloaded both of the things 10.6.3 OS X update and new iTunes through Software Update and then I perform the Installation of that and turn off the system in the night. When I woke up in the next,I find out that my iMac was still on the same position but with a black screen. I used my mouse and many buttons but nothing happened. I turned it off to hold the power button. I waited a some minutes and turned it back on. I took a shower and when I turned back 15 minutes later it appears with a white screen with the gray apple. I waited few moments more but it never moved past this screen . I had to leave for work so I wasn't able to resolve the issue. Has anyone having the same issue ? If so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There may be Something commonly suffered from "brain damage" at the time of making update. Would you follow my suggestion which would be better for you. You need to try again when you get home. If it in the same situation and not coming to boot then recover using your backup (you did make a backup before installing a major update, OK?) and then download the combined Snow Leopard 10.6.3 update. After that installs OK, you can download the new iTunes 9.1 update.

20" iMac won't boot and 10.6.3 update failed

I performed the 10.6.3 upgrade from software update. The Mac rebooted and finally it assumed as it was OK. But then it shows a vague error message "a problem occurred, please reboot". I restarted the Mac and now entirely I looked is the grey screen with an Apple logo and the spinning progress icon. I have read elsewhere to try starting up in safe mode and single user mode. Both of those work, but then part method via the booting process, they stop acting anything. I have also let the grey screen run for a half an hour. What I need to do through which I can get my Mac to reboot again?

    20" iMac won't boot after 10.6.3 update

    Hi guys,

It is not new for me, I was suffering with the same problem for a long time with corrupt itunes and os install failing - turned out I required to repair my HardDisk - booted from Leopard DVD (hold down C when you come to boot the machine with DVD placed in the drive) - When OS is comes up, select utilities from top menu (You need not to install OS X,

In such type of scenario, run disk utility => repair disk (boot volume). You need to take about 22 minutes and fully repaired drive rebooted, reinstalled iTunes, everything is going good now. Good luck!
