mcou.dll error message for Outlook 2007

I am using Kaspersky internet security since last one year and i have also recently i have renewed my license too. i have also upgraded the application to 7.0.1.321 version. Now whenever i open Outlook it pops up an error message Mcou.dll. Any help in this matter would be appreciated heavily.

Sounds like you have installed some add-in on your Kaspersky Antivirus like the Kaspersky mail checker and hence you are getting this error message. I would suggest you to disable all the Add-ins which ever you have installed on your machine Since this is the main reason behind this problem. I hope that this will help you.

Follow the Stepd which i have listed below in order to resolve this issue.

1. Open the Kaspersky Antivirus application.
2. Scan your system using the antivirus application.
3. Then enable Kaspersky Anti-Spam plugin.
4. Apply the settings and restart the system.

It appears as some of or your registry entries are causing this problem so i would suggest you to check for the following registry entries and delete them if you find them.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions --> Kaspersky Mail Checker

C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Workstation 5\mcou.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\

- Re-Installation of Kaspersky.

Restart the system after deleting the system.

Even i encountered the same problem described here, this week, from the 2009 version to version 2010. I also managed to solve the problem exasperating slowness (it took around 1 day of loading for 3 small posts qq bytes only!) By disabling the antispam. But we must recognize that if I decided to buy this software, this is not going to install another one!

Try to adjust the following options in your outlook express

1. Open Outlook 2007.
2. Go to extras select options and then select more.
3. Select Advanced Options then Add-In-Manager or COM-Add-Ins.
4. Now just disable Kaspersky Plug-ins. Restart and check
5. If the problem still persists then re-install Kaspersky.
