Windows 7 upgrade and HDD Protection Removal

Hello friends, I think that there are some conflicts between the Windows 7 upgrade and HDD Protection Removal. The situation being faced is that when I try out the upgradation from Windows Vista to Windows 7, I get a message saying that the HDD Protection has to be removed from the system. But, when I try to get rid of the same, I get a blue screen and the system shuts down. The Toshiba Upgrade Assistant has also proved unsuccessful to provide some help. Please help me with suitable replies and suggestions as soon as possible.

    Do not do an upgradation

If there seems to be any type of conflicts between the Windows 7 upgrade and HDD Protection Removal, then I recommend you that do not do an upgradation from an older version of the Windows operating system that you are using. Its is better if you try out a clean install of the operating system, that means you will have to remove all the installed system files by formatting. Then, there will be no issues for installing Windows 7.

Windows 7 upgrade may not be available for Toshiba

I think that a Windows 7 upgrade may not be available for Toshiba. This is the main reason why there are differences between Windows 7 upgrade and HDD Protection Removal. Another reason is that the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant is also blocking the upgradation of the Windows 7 operating system from being done. Check out with the officials for the same.

    Stick with Windows Vista

My suggestion to you is to stick with Windows Vista because even after the Windows 7 operating system will be installed into your computer, you will face problems using the same in the future. There will be issues with respect to the applications and programs that you were using without any problems in the current operating system. Windows 7 has the same features as Windows Vista, hence using Vista is a better option.

    Install SpeedUP my PC

Hello there, according to me, you must install SpeedUP my PC. This is a software, that can be used to force any particular application or program in the system to be removed. If you are not able to get rid of HDD Protection by normal means, then this is a software, that will help you in this particular situation. Just let me know if the issue still persists.

Re: Windows 7 upgrade and HDD Protection Removal

Hello there, it does not seem that there are any types of conflicts between Windows 7 upgrade and HDD Protection Removal. Actually, some kind of application or program of the system is blocking the upgradation of the Windows 7 operating system. You will have to find out the same and then, remove it from the computer. After that, try the upgradation of the operating system.
